The Task

One day, Mrs. Smith's principal announced at a faculty meeting that he wanted to observe each teacher using technology with their students as part of the curriculum. He suggested that they pick one of their lesson plans and try to modify it to take advantage of technology. While she was a little nervous, Mrs. Smith took his suggestion and chose her lesson plan about clouds.

But now that she had chosen the plan, she realized she didn't know what to do first. How could she find resources or lesson plan ideas? She tried going to Google and searching for information on clouds but she was overwhelmed with the large number of websites that were found. Surely there must be a better way.

Mrs. Smith had a friend, Mrs. Allen, who often used technology with her students and taught classes for the school division. Mrs. Smith went to visit Mrs. Allen and explained her problem. "I need to use technology but I just don't know where to begin. Can you help?"

"I can," said Mrs. Allen. "I created a webquest designed to help teachers find resources for teaching. Just click the Process button below and follow the directions. You'll find web resources, lesson plan ideas, and software related to your topic. Have fun!"
