Oops! This alignment is about as
bad as you can get. It's so bad that we are not offering suggestions for how
to improve it. If you look at the standard, it covers exploration from Columbus
on. What this teacher did was spend four weeks not just on Jamestown but on
the Indians at Jamestown! So what we have is an alignment problem, a pacing
problem, and a teacher who obviously is teaching what he or she taught about
Indians years ago before the 1995 SOL were adopted. In other words, this is
"hobby teaching."
