Technology in the Classroom Workshop

Focus on Integration: Technology in the Classroom is not about skills training. The focus of the class is how to integrate technology in the classroom. Participants learn about the whys, whens, and hows of integration. The class uses a variety of software tools including the Office applications and Inspiration. During the class, participants create an instructional unit or design materials to enhance an already existing unit.

Flexible and Personalized: Participants complete a Technology Inventory Survey and identify the range of hardware available within their own schools. If possible, those tools are incorporated in the class so teachers can practice using the hardware.

Lots of Materials! Participants leave the workshop with a CD full of resources including game templates, tutorials, web resources and more!

Online Materials:

Several online resources used as part of the course are available. These materials may be used by educators for classroom instruction and professional development without permission although a short note of acknowledgement would be welcome to karen@ivyrun.com.

Introductory PowerPoint: Discusses planning for technology integration and includes numerous ideas for using the computer in the classroom. View Online OR Download

A note about the PowerPoint presentations: I offer them online with the understanding that they work best on Internet Explorer and Windows. If you can't view them online easily, please feel free to download the file.
